#4 Top 10 root causes for female hormone imbalance: Overwhelmed detox pathways

Lifestyle factors play an important role in balancing the body, and that includes female hormones. While I know we all try to live the healthiest lifestyle possible, some of our choices may not always tend in that direction. And when we’ve made too many bad choices, our body begins to let us know. The body is smart and complex, it knows how to eliminate toxins on its own, however, when our detox pathways get overwhelmed, that’s when we experience symptoms of concern. Most of us experience symptoms because we are at max toxic capacity. Even us women who are menopausal, or peri or post, can ultimately blame toxic build up for our hormonal fluctuations, including those hot flashes, night sweats, brain fog, joint aches, low mood and more.

Signs and symptoms of toxic build up:

Estrogen Dominance: Excess estrogen = Hormonal imbalance: Oily skin, thinning hair, facial hair, puffiness, low mood, water retention, irregular periods, and fertility issues.

Digestive Issues & Bloating: Poor fat absorption, which can lead to oil in stools or even loose stools.

Allergies & Skin Rashes/Itchiness: Over-reaction to histamines. Higher circulating pathogens and toxins can lead to increased cytokine production and elevated white blood cell counts. Intestinal impermeability = more work the liver has to do.

Fatigue (especially after meals): If the liver is overtaxed, especially due to gut permeability, it can create oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and fatigue.

Specific Sleep Issues: Waking between 1-3 AM with anxiety, mood swings, and brain fog.

Nutrient Deficiencies: Vitamins A, D, E, and K are fat-soluble, and the liver is needed to help utilize these, as well as nutrients important for your thyroid, such as B12, zinc, and copper. These deficiencies can lead to fatigue over time.

Unexplained Weight Gain: Inflammation in the liver can lead to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, which can then affect weight gain, cortisol, estrogen levels, and your cell membranes, decreasing glucose uptake.

Are you experiencing any of these symptoms, several perhaps? We can heal our bodies. We just need to support it the right way and give our bodies what it needs to do so. Have you ever done a detox? Detoxing can do so much to put us on a healthy path: Rebalance hormones, increase immunity, lower stress, support better sleep, allow for weight loss, improve digestion, and reduce inflammation and overall toxic load. By supporting our liver, it can help to flush out the toxins and work effectively in maintaining a healthy body.  The liver filters the blood every 6 minutes. When it gets bogged down and polluted it obviously cannot do its job. And over time these toxins get distributed to your fat cells and that’s where they sit and accumulate until you take measure to detoxify.
